Double Bass Affordable Hardshell Double Bass Cases

Do they exist..? Sorry if this posting isn't in the correct spot or if there are other posts already about this, I'm new here and couldn't find any posts about this. I'm looking for a hardshell case for my 3/4 double bass but they all seem over 1K. Thanks

Most of the ones I've seen are designed for putting your bass under a plane, bus, or in a cargo truck.

You don't really want to skimp on a case if you're going to be transporting it that way.

I know of two types of hard cases for double bass: the ones with a shell made of hard foam or something like it, and the ones made for serious transport. The former are suitable only for situations where you need a bit more protection than a soft case (like a band van or trailer) and where you will be handling the instrument yourself. This type is most definitely not safe for anything else. The latter type is good for air travel, handling by crew, etc, and will be expensive.

Some quick googling ("double bass hard case) found non-airline types from $220 to $1500.
