Affordable, Portable Amp?

Hello,

i was wondering if anyone knew a pretty affordable, smaller amp that still has a good sound to it.

my church is in need of a bassist, and after talking to the music minster there, he informed i needed to bring my own amp, and my current one is a giant, blown-out one

any help is appreciated

First place I'd look is the T.B. classifieds, many used bargains can be found.
My second suggestion would be to go to your nearest Guitar Center. Check out their G.C. line of Acoustic bass combos. IMHO, the G.C. Acoustic combo's are a great bang for your buck.

im looking into getting an acousic amp and cab.
i was looking for something with less power,
but for the price i can afford to go a little bigger.
they are great for the price IMO and are worth at least looking into.

Also, you can check out Craigslist for used Peavy combos.

depends on price range too. i just got me a carvin br515n combo, 500watts and weighs only 40lbs but costs 640. gallienkrueger just came out with some new combos that only weigh 33lbs and are cheaper than the carvin.

That B20 has great tone, but unless you're doing all acoustic sets with no drums, I think you'll be better off with the B100. If you can spring it, I'd go for the B200 and bless your soundguy with the DI out.

at the moment, we have a pianist and a guitarist. the guitarists only amplifying device is just a small amp that can get loud enough

the church is pretty big, and i'm no expert whatsoever, but you can hear fine from the cheapseats.
