Double Bass Afterlength damper?

I was playing my Epiphone with BassMax this morning and noticed that the afterlengths were ringing. I've kept a Velcro strap to damp this, like what Azola used on the Bugbass, and I recall that the Rev II comes with a piece of tubing for a similar purpose.

Is anybody using something like this when playing mostly amplified pizz? Any unexpected problems?

I use some foam or a sponge between the solid body and the afterlengths of my EUBs to avoid ringing of the afterlengths.

Weaving some shrink tubing through the lengths works too, though if you don't get it right it will rattle. I've never had any problems with the velcro strap other than it loosens and needs to be cinched up occasionally.

sometimes i had to put something between top and afterlenght in order to avoid feedback at high volume in very "resonating" places.looking forward to see if Bassmax it's better about feedback.

It's all about aesthetics really... anything that holds the strings gently but firmly will work; plastic or rubber tubing, neck tie, foam, etc. I weaved a thin piece of leather that matched my bow quiver when I was using a pick-up.
