Agedhorse I need your advice. I was removing my cab from last nights gig and saw this. It’s a (what we call in Alabama) dirt dobber nest on the speaker. What is the best way to remove it? Hartke HD210 cab. Thanks in advance.

Not Andy, but I’ve had to do this before on a Peavey 410 cab.
I just removed the grill, pulled off the nest, and used a very slightly damp cloth to remove some of the residue. Later, I used a paint pen to conceal the rest of the left-behind residue.

Aluminum wasps nest only in the Hartke aluminum cones. Have your speaker re-coned

Looks like the bulk of the nest is gone. Is it actually causing an issue (beyond cosmetic)? Trying to clean may cause more trouble. Might be best to leave it alone.
Leave it be or gently hit it with an old toothbrush. Dry of course.
Or use one of those brush attachments on a vacuum cleaner. Less of a mess.

Gently scrape off the residue. Nothing more is needed.
Vibrate it off by playing.

If you start eviction protocols now, you can get them out in about 6 months.

These cones aren't paper but kevlar+aluminium IIRC so you don't have to worry as much about damaging the speaker. Scrape it off then gently clean off the rest with microfiber cloth.
