I have a Fender Am. Deluxe Jazz, it's also got a 9V battery in the back which i would presume would be the reason why it's not passive. Sorry for the ignorance but I never really fully understood what it was for. I tried reading this thread from Fender but it only confused me more.

Would the OBP-1 even make my bass sound better? Or is just another option to shape it and end up with an entirely different tone? Basically what good would having the OBP-1 installed be?
