Aguilar AG700 SL112 pairing

Hello! About to order an Aguilar AG700 amp from an online music store and I'm just wondering if a combination of two SL112s cabs will do the trick. In most configurations I've seen online they combine it with an SL212, and since I'm not experienced in the technical side of things I'm not sure if it's "safe" with one or two SL112s. Basically I don't need more than 500W of power (I just like the clarity of the AG700) since I mostly play in clubs and my TC electronic BG250 did fairly well in every occasion volume wise, no matter the venue or the style of music (from jazz to heavy metal). Sorry in advance if this has been answered somewhere in the forum.

The SL212 is essentially two SL112s in a single enclosure, perhaps tuned a hair differently given the different enclosure size, but it is safe. The AG700 is a nicely voiced, clean sounding amp and that sounds like it'll be a nice lightweight setup.

I know this thread is a little older, but I'd like to revive it for a question because I'm thinking about the same combo.

Since the AG 700 amp is capable of 350 watts at 8 ohms, and 700 watts at 4 ohms, it seems it can really overpower the SL 112 - which has an RMS power handling of 250 watts.

The SL 410 sounds amazing and is ultracompact, plus it's capable of handling 800 watts.

However, it's not compact enough for me - 2 112s would be perfect, and unfortunately there is no SL 210. Plus I like the footprint to be a vertical stack.

Has anyone here had problems running this combo at louder volumes... or is there another cab that you would recommend to pair with the AG 700?

For the past three months I’ve been gigging with the AG700 in combination with only one sl112 out of the two I have (because no car and taxi drivers complain). I’m talking at least three gigs a week with up to 9 musicians, and I personally have not experienced any inconvenience.
However, being the technical handicap that I am, I’m also wondering if it’s safe. Hope someone with more experience can answer this!

One thing is for sure though; two is better than one :)

Hi there. Just wondering if you ever pulled the trigger on the two SL112's and if so are able to handle playing at louder volumes? Thanks.
