Has anyone had any experience using the Aguilar db750 with ampeg cabs? I was thinking about pairing the db with a 410HLF. I was going to go with an Ampeg pro series head but haven't heard the best news regarding quality and reliability.
Ya, wait till the LOUD idiots sell off Ampeg before buying any new Ampeg stuff. The 410HLF isn't my favorite cab in the world, but it does have a massive low end that some people really like. I think the 750 and the HLF would work very well together if you like the HLF.
How do I REALLY feel about a company that bought a successful US operation that I loved and moved it out of the country and turned it into an unsuccessful operation and bankrupted it almost overnight? "Idiots" is mild, quite honestly, but I'll get thrown off if I use the word "----tards."
Don't give up on the Pro series heads, just shop for a used SLM era 4Pro, or 6Pro, and let the tone roll. My SLM 6Pro gets heavy use, sounds great doing it, and hasn't let me down. Though, I don't use Ampeg spkr cabs, but that's unrelated to your question.
For a while, in one of the bands I played in, I used a DB750 with an Ampeg Fridge. I wasn't a fan of the pairing. Probably because the SVT810 would fart out. I love the SVT sound with Ampeg amp/cab combo. A VR with a Fridge sounds wonderful. However with a DB750, I'm more inclined to love it with Aggie Cabs.
