Fretless buzz

Squier VM "Jaco" style I got as a backup. It's an ebanol board that came fairly scuffed up and I've sanded it now and then and in general but it has:

* One bad buzz on 4th fret on the E string
* Less bad buzz 10th fret on the G string.

Should I sand it some more, whole neck, which is a bit of a faff, or are there any short cuts?

Action is 1.5mm 12 fret E string, strung with TI Jazz Rounds. Small amount of relief.

It sounds to me like you need to level the whole fingerboard.
However if it's only those 2 spots, you can try and spot sand in those areas.
Try and keep your levelling to the string path, 1 string at a time.

You should be able to look down the neck from the bridge end, up the side of the neck.
You should be able to see the problem spots, often times it can be the fret line before the problem.

I had to do the same, take your time,but not a difficult task. get level beams and radius blocks.

It sounds to me like you need to level the whole fingerboard.

That's why I did when I first got it, and a couple of updates since. Ditto my two which are rosewood, which I much prefer working with. Ebanol is horrible and messy and I wear a mask, which is why I am hoping to avoid doing the whole thing again.

However if it's only those 2 spots, you can try and spot sand in those areas.

I'll try sticking a bit of my fine sandpaper to a fret rocker. That might work.

I don't think it's that as I last did it not all that long ago (about 6 months) in terms of a light sand which sorted out a couple of other spots nicely, so the lines should be pretty flattened. It just didn't quite deal with those two spots which are annoying me. I know in practice no one every uses that low Ab on a fretless ( ), though, so it's not a huge deal.
