Anyone try these out? I've got the pj set and find they sound nothing like the aguilar videos show. I have a tonehammer 300 and aguilar 212 cab they go through.
I don’t have the pickups but I have found that the Aguilar demos don’t do a great job of demonstrating the pickups. Or at least the demos all seem to cover a specific style.

Hi mate. I'm as well interested in the PJ set of the "new" Aggie DCB 4p / 4j pup's. From the only video showcasing these, their sound seems very warm and wooly, that's the sound I'm after for my new 4-string PJ bass actually, as I will lean towards more vintage sounds with this bass.
So, what is your experience of the pickups and how do they sound ?
Thanks in advance

The PJ pickups are really great pickups. With that said, I would not really call them warm and wooly. They are clear and mid focused. More of a more modern sound. I wouldn't go by the video that Aguilar put out as an accurate representation of these pickups. I would probably check out Bartolini or the vintage Aguilar pickups if you are looking for a more wooly tone.

My Mayones Jabba 5 strings has the Aggie AG-70j single coil pickups that are already in the vibe you described (clear, accurate, mid-focused).
You're one more person mentioning the Bartolini as giving that vintage, fat, wooly vibe I'm after. So I'll probably give them some particular attention in the days to come.
