I used it with an SWR Bass750 which sounded pretty badass. A couple years later I teamed it up with a DB750 and to my ears, I couldn't get out the boominess without losing punch. The tightness of the NV610 cured that.

I've been reading up on the NV610. Sounds awesome.

I played my 70's SVT through one, and it sounded great. A very viable alternative to my two JBL 15"s.

I absolutely love mine. I tend to turn down the tweeter because I'm not a big fan of tweeters in general for rock. I actually like the sound of my S810 slightly better for most rock situations, but I actually think the 412 is a more versatile cab that sounds just as big. I end up using the GS412 95% of the time because it's just so easy to move. I mean, who wouldn't like a cab this size that weighs 50lbs, but I mean, 116lbs isn't much for a cab this size. I used to own the NV610 and although I miss that cab, the biggest difference I can tell with any large cab is the height that it's elevated, hence where the NV610 is at a disadvantage. I find that if a cab is tall enough, I can hear myself. Hence why I like using these aggie cabs. I've never had a problem with either of them. However I do miss being able to stick an NV610 in the back seat of a sedan. That would be a must if I didn't have a hatchback car.

I'm really really torn with regards to my GS412.

On the one hand, it's easy to move, loud as heck, and sounds great.

On the other hand...the DB212 and 412 are on the way. :x

The GS412 is my all time favourite cab, I love the 610XLT Eden also but it doesn't have the "all enveloping" presence of the 412. The 412 is quite light for it's size and has a better tilt angle when rolling so it's a surpisingly easy lug.

has anyone tried the GS412 versus 2xGS212 ?
I have a GS212 and simply love it.
It's enough for most gigs, but sometimes it's not.
I want to add another GS212. Will a stack of these sound similar to the 412?

I have never used this cab with a tube amp so I can't comment on that. I use mine with a tube preamp and a solid state power amp. My gut tells me an NV would work better with tubes, but I have nothing to back that up with.


I can comment on the form factor though.

I have a number of good sounding cabs (IMO) and the GS412 is my go to cab. Even though it is the biggest one I own, it is also the easiest cab for me to move. Perfect balance and height. It is about 20 lbs heavier than the cab to the right of it (NV 215 in picture) yet it feels about 30 lbs lighter. I also own two GS112's, which are much more work to move around and load up than the one larger cab (neck problems).


Not sure if you have had a chance to hear the GS112's but IMO the GS412 sounds a lot better. It has all the heft in the low end that you would expect but is more balanced from high to low.

Man I miss my GS 412 , best cab ever ,bar none!

I run MB800 into a GS412 and I could not be happier. I was using 2 GK neo 212s and while they are very good, the Aggie just sounds more open and balanced especially on stage. It is very easy to move with the built in wheels, even up stairs. It is now my go to cab for just about every situation. I am planning on getting a Mesa Prodigy in the near future and feel that will be a match in tone heaven...GET it you will be very happy!

Still love mine after 6 years! Have replaced one speaker along the way as well as one caster. Other than that, the exterior has held up wonderfully. Sounds great no matter what I have thrown at it.
