Just wondering what kind of solutions people have found for velcro-mounting their Aguilar pedals (Octamizer, Agro, Filter Twin, etc.) to Pedaltrains and other boards? The lip seems to really get in the way of useful velcro placement.

Any ideas?

My TLC compressor came with 2 pieces of foam that can be glued to the bottom so that any Velcro to be attached will be level with the lip. I think just gluing some Velcro onto thin pieces of wood or something and gluing them to the bottom should work fine. Ymmv.

This, if you don't have them just shoot an email to Aguilar and they will send you some in the mail. They are awesome about that.

I found the foam inserts to not hold well at all; the velcro keeps coming off of the foam inserts. However, working in a sign shop, I came up with a great solution that works really well. It should be easy enough for you to go to a place and have this done if you're so inclined.

I took some scrap 3mil (equates to 1/8" thick) sintra and cut a 1" wide strip. One one side, I used a 1" thick strip of double-sided banner tape (hi-tack) and on the other side a 1" strip of velcro. I then cut this strip to length (sintra is easy to cut with a knife) and mounted two pieces on the pedal.

The thickness of the sintra is enough to put the velcro at the right spot so you can stick it to any pedal board. I've also used this on some of my older Rocktron pedals that are in the classic, larger casing with the exposed 9v battery compartment door.

I also have the TLC on mine, and used the foam blocks that came with it. You could tape cardboard or foam under it if you don't have the blocks, nobody is going to see the bottom of your pedal. It is a bit of a design flaw IMO.

I had a look and saw one of the foam pads was still in the box (got it used on here recently)

Did sort of a combination pad + rubber feet with long strips of velcro (re-used from a couple pedals I sold recently) that's holding reasonably well for now. If I start playing out more than once a week or have problems with it, I'll probably try the zip ties idea instead

The lip on Aguilar pedals is why I got rid of my TLC. Betwen trying to hold it in place and trying to connect it, I couldn't find any decent way to fit it on my board. That lip is really the only bad thing about Aguilar pedals...

The included foam pads make this a non-issue.

I found the foam pads didn't hold the Velcro well at all. I keep my pedalboard in the closet at a 90 degree angle and the ONLY pedal that consistently fell off the board was the Aguilar.

After I made my "ramps," I haven't had an issue at all.
