Aguilar TH350 into 8 ohm 410

Hi,
I have a Aguilar TH350 and 2 Ampeg 410HEs. If I use both cabs I get the full 350 watts. If I use 1 cab I get 175 watts. My question is, if I'm using this head with 1 speaker cab, 175 watts, will this effect my sound quality?

Also, I love the TH350s sound... If I wanted to replace this head in order to get one that paired better with one 410 cabinet, for versatility at clubs, what would be a good option? Looking for similar sound and compact size

I remember someone telling me about under powering a 4 x 10 and they blew a few speakers… a very long time ago.
I don’t know what today’s technology offers in this area but I would pair that cabinet with a higher powered head TH500 or TH700…

Yes it will effect sound quality.

Add a matching cab and double the power and you get +6db, which is a very noticeable volume change. If one cab is loud enough, it won't make any difference.

Adding a cab will make the sound fuller/thicker. Most bassists seem to prefer this. It's not necessarily all positive, adding a cab also tends to slightly degrade some tone qualities. The sound may seem less focused and less even off-axis.

For me, less is usually more. My last touring rig included an Eden D210XLT and D410XLT. I generally used only the 210.
