It was great for a long while, now the level control scratches and then cuts out after about 7 oclock. Bad pot? Worth a fix?

If it is an open kind of pot, it is worth cleaning it with contact spray first. Carbon pots may have this issue sometimes but they can be easily cleaned for a second great life.

Yeah. Use a fleas worth of DeOxit.
