Aguilar ToneHammer 500 or GK Mb800

Finally getting my first real rig together and I need some advice.

First off I'm using an Avatar 410. The two extremes of my playing would be jazz when I'm at university and really aggressive post rock (think Russian Circles) when I'm at home.
I usually run a compressor and a sansamp.

My question is which of these heads would suit both my tastes of playing the best? I've heard good things about the GK's tube preamp. I'm worried I won't be able to get as much grit out of the tonehammer as the GK.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers!

apples and oranges dude. Oh and if ya want the tube front end look at the mbf as the mb front end is solid state. I understand it's not always possible to "try before you buy" so def pick a vendor with a liberal return policy.

good luck & have fun with it.
