Aguilar Tonehammer 500

Love my TH500 best class D I have ever used. For my playing and music I do it’s all I need. I agree with those here who suggested GK. I owned many GK heads and cabs..still do. You can get that in your face loud and snotty with them all day.
A great amp and plenty loud. But not a bright snappy sound. It has an old school school rolled off high end sound. That’s why I sold mine. But if it has the sound your after is a great amp.
I see no one's yet suggested a Walter Woods Electracoustic model. 
As much as I loved the one I had, I eventually sold it and just use my Tone Hammer 500, which IMO, sounds great. One just needs to use the right speakers with it and it will provide all the full range, depth, highs, etc., some feel is missing.

I've been playing one for about 3 or 4 years now and I love it. BUT I play a pretty high gain grindy sound kind of style. It's got more low end then I could ever need and has never failed me volume wise with a 8 or 4 ohm load.
I’ve never owned one, but I can tell you that absolutely the best sounding bass rigs at the NAMM shows are TRICKFISH! Those amps feature a preamble section designed by Mike Pope and speakers designed by ex-JBL engineers. Trickfish has about any kind of tone you might want and they have more low end muscle than anything I’ve heard while still maintaining good definition. Any Trickfish owners out there with real-world experience please let us know what you think
i’ve got a Carvin BX500 and when I was playing out of town on the regular I bought a TH500 as a backup. To insure I was familiar with it should the need arise, i put it on top of my Carvin and alternated amps between sets. I figured it would give me an opportunity to learn the new amp while comparing the two. After a few weeks of this I was not at all impressed with the TH. When I polled the band it was unanimous, they all preferred the Carvin.
Interesting this..... my other mm gave me the same problems. Problem is, i love them, love the tone generally. Tried a few other basses and nothing comes close. Out of interest, what bass do you use that doesn't have flat spots like this?
I've been gigging my TH500 for about 10 years. Lately I'm using it with my P bass and a Barefaced SC cab. They fit together well and make a great sound. The Jazz bass usually gets my AG700.
IME Aguilar amps are quality and just fit the sound I want to make.

Really depends of the cab sensitivity and how it is tuned itself.TH500 is great Amp,but there is TH700 which I think would be enough for medium to large venues.If you do not like how it is sounds,that is different story.Too much other options out there.
