Aguilar

Tried the "fantastic best amp ever" DB750...... Couldn't dial a tone I wanted. Grindy, dusty mids, no clean highs, no massive lows. Exactly the same as the Mesa MP-600 I owned.
Also extremely heavy and extremely noisy! Noisiest amp I ever tried.
As you can guess, I didn't like that amp at all. Two of my fellows bass players shared the same point of view. However this amp is still praised by many. To me if you like vintage oriented tones, go for it.

I own and play regularly the TH500, AG500, and AG700. I love their classic tone. My favorite is the AG500 out of the three. Great sound and quality. Love their product!

I had a TH500. One of the two best amps I've ever had the other being the D800+. Solid company. I'm going to grab a AG700.

People talk about weight...the only thing that annoyed me about the TH500 is, it's so light that if you used a coiled cord it would pull the head off the bottom. Fortunately I never pulled it off.

And if that's the ONLY negative...there's your answer. Great company.

DB750 is my personal favorite amp of all time. Great tone with mass lows, punchy mids, and pleasantly clean highs. Rolling the tubes in it can yield a plethora of different flavors while all remaining great sounding.

I'd still own it if it weren't too heavy for what I need in an amp.

Tone Hammer and TLC pedals and TH500 head owner...sound, reliability, customer support are all top notch. IMO Aguilar carves out its own niche in the market voicing-wise and if you like that sound, it's hard to find anything that compares. I don't use my TH500 for everything I do, but when I want a tube sounding head without the weight and size of tubes, I can't think of a better option.

Last night I brought out my TH350 and two SL112 cabinets, taking them to a gig where I always struggle to get a good sound-- it's always been too boomy, indistinct sounding. I stopped using the TH350 and SL122's about two years ago, having decided it/they didn't deliver what I really wanted and that I hadn't mastered the drive control. (I did keep them in my practice room and used them there).

Lo and behold, FINALLY I got a terrific tone in that room! The drive control helped deliver a clear, more cutting tone, but there was still ample bottom. I was actually quite impressed and surprised. Sometimes you drift away from gear, then rediscover it. This my story. I am going to bring that rig to more places and see how it deals. Right now I am very pleased with the TH350 and SL-112's.
