AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

sorry dude..if your an experienced player...u wont even go near the sight of a squier....
my gosh...its a squier...the name itself is...degrading...brings shame upon the name of pro bass players..
If you're an experienced player, you don't buy into the branding bull. A completed instrument is either good or not good, regardless of the name on its headstock. There's a great British guitarist named Steve Topping who's played with Gary Husband quite a bit and he has no shame in using a Squier Strat. He likes proving that it's more about you than what's in your hands. I don't think just the name itself brings "shame" to anyone at all, professional or amateur.

And must everything be a run-on sentence, txt style? Some capitalization and punctuation, not to mention proper use of "your" vs. "you're" would bring oodles of credibility to your post.

Why because Ken Smiths and Foderas are that much better?
:eyebrow: Yes, I'm defending Squier to the death.

I have played a Fender parts bass (USA '57 RI) for over a decade. Many people would point their noses up at it just because it didn't have a serial and therefore wasn't 'real', much like they would respond if I was playing a Squier. Now does that qualify me to offer my opinion and to join the chorus that has said, for the thousandth time, that the name on the headstock doesn't matter quite so much? I just think it's silly and immature to get into brand superiority...yet again. The previous poster said that just the name itself was degrading and shameful. I don't see how any brand could ever evoke such a response from me. Everything's gotta be so dramatic! :o

I happen to own the brands that I have because that's what was available to me and what sounded good to me, not because of the name on the headstock or my pre-occupation with the superiority others associate with a particular brand. I have played some decent Squiers and I just don't see how it's "unfit" for anyone. It's just another bass guitar.

i find it interesting that the people that are defending squier are the ones playing ken smith's and fodera's..... :ninja:

I duno, I'm defending them too and all I have now is a stable of SX basses, one 5 er branded S101 Guitars and a Squier I pre paid and am awaiting delivery....I used to own a T 40 in the 80's....

Does my defense of the brand count?
:D

Don't, I repeat....DON'T

under ANY circumstances buy a SQUIER!!!!

when the demand goes down, the prices will drop and I can buy more at a reduced price....:D

If they got any more affordable, they'd be better than SX....:D

The Squire FVM Fretless is the best fretless bass your going to find at under $300 IMHO, though I have not played an SX. Seriously, the only difference that I can hear compared to my '08' MIA Fender Jazz Bass is, outside being that the '08' has frets, is the output of the pups, it has Duncan Designed pups which really aren't too bad. Also, there is a slight hum or buzz when you turn down either of the pups , but it's not even audible in a live performance and if your not listening for it you won't even hear it standing alone in a room. Playability is very good . I recommend getting a good setup so that your intonation is correct to pitch. The Squire is punchy, very articulate, with the roundwound strings on the Ebonol fretboard are not going to give much wear at all and the "mwah factor" with the roundwounds and tone rolled off a bit is super cool. Its my first fretless and I bought it because I wanted to have a fretless to meddle around with, plus play it on 2-3 songs with my band. I know it's going to serve that purpose just fine.:)

BTW, I am thinking about getting an SX Fretless 5'er.:smug:

** CRAIGSLIST ADVISORY --- AVOID SCAMS BY DEALING LOCALLY
** Avoid: wiring money, cross-border deals, work-at-home
** Beware: cashier checks, money orders, escrow, shipping
** More Info: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html

Hey man still have this gem? I've been itching for a 5 string and my stingray 4 just isn't holding up anymore.

Thanks a bunch,
Ken

Won't say who its from though.
But i wonder, what took them so long to reply? Hmm, maybe another deal fell through :p

uhh. cant ask them to hold on to it for another week. I "Need" this one badly.
$100 bucks for delivery?
Tell him your accountant will be happy to send him a cheque (be sure to spell it that way) in the full asking amount of the bass, plus another $1000 to cover shipping costs. For said shipping, you will arrange to have a contact meet him and pick up the instrument, and this contact can only be paid in cash.

Like it? I just thought if it now.

;)

#1. I always spell cheque as Cheque :p ( Canada BTW)
#2. It doesnt sound legit.
#3. How about i say:
Hey, right now I'm not in the area. However, my good friend Claude Jacobs (?) is. I'd
A: Have to ship my bass out to him, and then complete the trade
B: you ship to my place, i ship to yours
C: Save up a Thousand. send via paypal and if it's not too much, throw in an amp. There's enough there to cover ALL Shipping costs. AND PLEASE, ship in a flight case. I'd be more than happy to send the money before you ship just to ensure it's safety during its trip. BTW I'm located WHERE AM I LOCATED ?!?!?
D: Keep that one thousand and buy a better bass. Honestly do you think you can get $700 for a bass that costs $240.00 ? C'mon, craigslisters aren't stupid. They have money, but they spend it wisely.

Which option? Where am i located? OR should i send that whole thing over. Knock some sense into them.
