Double Bass AI or MB 121p

Hullo! I have a serious dilemma! I use a Mark Bass 121p and I love it to bits, has a great sound, pretty loud and easy to carry as it is light and small! It has no horn and just a one speaker. The other day I was mesmerized when I heard my buddy using a Sansamp into AI (don't want to confuse anyone about the brand) hooked up to a 2x10+horn! FC pickup.If you have experience with AI I would appreciate some input! Should I keep my amp or trade for AI head? If so what would be THE best pick out of the AI range???? I know someone who has a Walter Woods under his bed for the past
2 years since he got his MB 121p?!? I could just shut up and be happy with my amp but as Bob said life is too short not to have the best sound! Thanks.:help:

I use both. The 121P works great as a doubling combo but the AI Focus I head I have already has a 10meg ohm buffer built into one of the inputs. I also use a Sansamp Acoustic DI or Para DI into the effects return on the Focus, bypassing the preamp on the Focus. This all goes into either a Berg HT112 or AE210.

The 121P is great but the Sansamp and Berg setup is tonally superior with both the upright and electric bass.

I use an FC or Shadow double bridge slot pickup. (Underwood style)

It is decided now I am selling my sweet Mark Bass 121p, I bought a AI Clarus + simply because it has some effects and phantom power that will accomodate my DPA 4099B Now I have to think of a 2x10 speaker cab + horn. I heard a lot of good stuff about HT112 very tempting but I cant imagine using anything except 10" speaker for upright. One of my buddy uses 2+ 8" and the sound and response is unreal!
