Aimless string ID help

At the moment I'm happy with the strings on my two basses but as one comes to know, these moments of happiness are often short lived. Any idea what the strings on Paul Simonon's bass in the picture are? And a happy New Year!

Are they flats with blue/purple silk? The way some of the non-silked part of the E string wraps around the tuner post, they almost look like the GHS Precision Flats on my P bass.

Yes, quite possibly. Even the silk of the A string is as short as in your picture. What else could they be? Chromes and LaBella, that come with blueish silks, are ruled out due to E string length.
