Albert Collins' Bass Player????

Who was Albert Collins' bass player on "Ice Pickin'"? He has the exact tone I am looking for and I was wondering what his rig may have been.

Jonny B that cats killer...theres slap with class...i know a local blues player who knew him and Albert used to open for them..said Albert and Jonny were great always bought them breakfast after the gigs.

I loved Johnny B on "Frozen Alive" I was in college at the time, and interviewed Albert for the radio station. I don't think my voice had fully changed by then LOL

I'm pretty sure that was Aaron Burton, not Johnny B.

It was Aron Burton on the original studio album, but there are some live recordings around with Gaydon too.

Yep Johnny is awesome. I'm not a blues fan but that was a pretty funky and tight section. He's on facebook, FWIW.

Johnny B is a little busier than Aron and has a slightly more "modern" tone. Any way you look at it , though, they are both killer players

No Cutting Loose was either Noel Neal or Aaron Burton. Johnny appeared on Harp Attack, though... both great albums. You can also hear him on Son Seals and Johnny Winter's Alligator recordings.

Alligator records has some great double cd compilations that are loaded with some great bass playing, usually at a good price too.
