Alclair CMVK IEM’s

I felt it was time to replace my InEarz p450 IEM’s. A friend suggested Alclair CMVK’s. I haven’t gigged with them yet, but trying them out at home, the bass reproduction is outstanding! These things go deep, but unlike others I have tried that had a bass “boost,” the CMVK’s are more like just hearing what is actually going on in the low end. Very pleased with the purchase!

I had a set of these and really liked them. Everyone else was paying double for 1964s at the time and I decided to go this route. Eventually lead to me getting the church an endorsement deal once I became staff a couple years after purchase. Good people over there at Alclair.

My InEars have Adel vents if that is what you mean. I did change the Adel filters when I first got them to those that were supposed to be best for low end. I don't think they made all that much difference other than $$. I wanted to have my P450's remolded. For the money they wanted, it wasn't worth it. Now I'm glad I didn't. They had no where near the low end clarity and headroom the Alclairs have IMO.

I have a pair of CMVK too. Before these, I had a pair of Dual XB that I used for about 6 years. I loved the Dual XBs, but the CMVK is a substantial improvement. Definitely more defined and audible bass coming through. Very sharp and pronounced, not muddy or distorted. I can definitely hear myself better with lower volume with the CMVK's over the the Dual XB. Not taking anything away from the Dual XB's. I really like those too.

I was in the Nashville Alclair shop 2 weeks ago getting impressions and trying out several models with universal tips. I found the CMVK's to be pretty good. I ultimately ended up picking the more expensive DKMs, which sounded better to my ears. But I think I would have been okay with the CMVK's if that was my budget.

I can't wait to get my custom DKM's. They said it would take 4-5 weeks.
