Resolved alerts

I started receiving alerts on my computer today for new threads created in the amps forum when I am visiting it. The alert begins with XXXXX started a thread called.....

I don't have any relation to these threads as far as I can tell. I can't see a way to turn this off in the Alert Preferences. See below.

Amps is in my watched forum list but not selected. Not sure why it is there other than I frequently post there. I have posted in other forums and they are not in the list. Unless there's a time limit set for when they are displayed.

You must have hit the "watch forum" link by mistake. If it's in your list, you're subscribed to it. The checkboxes are just for selection purposes. So, select the forum in your watched forums list, and then select "unwatch forum" from the menu at the bottom.

The amps forum is removed from my watch forum list now. I assume that the new thread alerts will cease and they will percolate out.

I suspect that it was turned on while I was using my iphone yesterday. It's never clear what I'm hitting when I stab at that thing.
