Is this mixer capable of recording live (and multi-track),
recording into seperate tracks?

This should be on Recording Gear. Anyway to answear you question, yes it does record multitrack.

And thanks, I see theres 2 firewire outputs, do they both have to be inserted into
the computer?

No. Usually with firewire equipment you connect one of the ports to the PC or mac, the other one can be used to daisy chain other gear or Hard Drives.
