All Genz Benz products on "standby" by Fender ??

Posting this again, found it in another thread but is helpful info:

a little clarification here that might seem trivial, but it is not.

Genz Benz is not owned by Fender....it is owned by FMIC.

FMIC owns Fender on one side and KMC (who owns GB) on the other.

Different sales, marketing and managment teams. Thuis has been the case for the last four years.

Also, it has not changed your warranty. It is now and has been three years transferable.

Lastly, SWR and Genz Benz have nothing to do with eachother.

To both willsell and twofingers, since when did "awsome" and "profitable" become mutually exclusive? The GB product line was a perfect example of this of this combination. If Fender closes this line down so soon after buying it this just shows me that Fender does not know how to run a business (something thats been called into question by others besides me) They do seem to constantly aim for the lowest common denominator, and that is not always where the best profit lies. Just ask Apple.

Didn't Aged Horse reply in that thread, stating that Jeff Genzler took some time off over the holidays?

Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Jeff Genzler pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh sorry, that was Ferris Bueller.

Furthermore, My company aims for "Awsome" then we worry about what to sell our product for . We are not exorbitantly expersive and our product line has an excellent cost to quality balance and we just had our best quarter in a decade, and our product line is not inexpensive, it is high value. The idea that one can not make a quality product at a reasonable cost is offensive to me those who make that claim should go back to business school.

Hadn't Sunn been dead for many years before Fender or FMIC bought the name?

When Hartzell owned SUNN they were still going strong till the death of Tom Hartzell on a plane crash. The Hartzell family let SUNN sit idle for a few years afterwards and sold it to Bill Schultz. Fender had a great opportunity to continue the tradition of one of the greatest amplifier lines ever produced. Bill Schultz had the huge task of rebuilding Fender and so SUNN was pushed to the back burner. Fender just let them go by the wayside and squandered a great opportunity to keep the SUNN line viable and competitive in the marketplace.

I really hope that FMIC/Kaman doesn't let let GB go by the wayside. Their gear and customer service are some of the best if not the best in the whole industry.

I heard from a reliable source that at the NAMM Show Fender will introduce the new Sunn StreamMan T 2000. It will be a replacement for these models currently being produced by the FMI MegaCorp®:

Bassman 100T
Super Bassman 300
All TB Series amps
All Rumble Series amps
Streamliners 600 & 900
All Shuttle Series amps
All TB Series amps
SWR products will henceforth be called SWRumble

In addition to this sweeping realignment to the product line (bass related products affected, only), FMI MegaCorp® will be buying Marshall in order to kill off the Eden line of bass products.

Have a nice day! :)

Ahem... thanks for trolling guys  anyway it's the internet , "I" pushed the button.... :D

Did I say "shut down" ?? or anything else saying GB is closing ?

Of course not, I just said "standby" or "state of dormancy" cos' it was the "efficient" way to translate litteraly what the guys said on the phone.

It's the Mproshop boss in ... France yes, of course, i'm french and searching for a bass cab in France, so french hu hu.... :hiding: They work with Fender Europe, wich is the importer for GB products.

I was asking for a Focus cab, unfortunately, no cabs in Europe... well I did find one in Germany (? yep.. I know...), thanks to session musik.de. Then Guillaume, the Mproshop boss tells me "well ya know, GB products are gonna be put in a state of dormancy by Fender, will be really hard to get them...." litteraly his own words, as I previously said.

The fact is: finding this serie is nearly impossible, it's in the boat, or waiting for customs clearance, or "we've" got but we don't really in fact" (Thanks Euroguitar, so "clear" explanations this morning :scowl:), or..... even Fender doesn't really seem to known where those cabs are !!! :rollno: :D

Even fender France do not want to tell me if they really got them or not. The only person in France who gave me a reliable info was the Mproshop boss.

But anyway I'm glad that Germany has some, so in my case it will be cool guys.... but i'm wondering for the future of GB in Europe... sorry it's a US forum, I should not speak about Europe, sorry so .... european ??

Yeah no offense it's cool for me dude ;) that's the "game" and I accept it, probably some issues to "transcribe" (I know it's translate, but this word really means my thoughts) exactly in english what the guy said to me, it's probably that.....
