All Maple P Bass

I have thought about getting an all maple P bass and throwing a Ric neck pup or a EMG humbucker in the neck position, and a Seymore Duncan 1/4 pounder or EMG P bass in the middle and a badass bridge (Both pups would be passive EMG Selects if I went that route). Think this would come close to the ric sound?

I would try this with the All maple Squier VIM P bass, I have to work on a shoestring budget, so buying a ric is not in the cards...

Any thoughts?

I am looking at a Squier VM P Bass, Ive been told that the stock P/U is really good and doesnt really need to be swapped out right away. But its up to you, However I am not sure if you could conquer the Rickenbacker sound. Good Luck!
