Now I want to know which bass Paul used to cut this track ? Anyone know?

On a related note, it seems the tracks Sir Richard drummed on didn’t make the cut. I’m sad for Ringo, but pleased they resurrected a track for Charlie Watts and one that has Bill Wyman on it.

Here is the extracted bass from McCartney...not an answer, but :D
Seems to have a lot of fuzz or od/distortion. More like a Geezer bassline LOL
There is a documentary/TV special, The Stone: Still Rolling, that was about recording the album, but I can't find it anywhere. Figured there might be a clip of McCartney in the studio with them.

This article states it was custom Hofner, but one that was a gift from Andrew Watt, the producer, with a Univox Super Fuzz with a switch for it.

Hmmm, can't tell if the noise in that bass isolation is the intended grunge or just artifacts from the extraction process?!? But the overall product works well.

But I still prefer Paul's original iconic fuzz bass song, "Think For Yourself". Highlighted on this 'deconstructing' video the isolated fuzz bass (with keyboard for context) presents a much "cleaner fuzz" (how's that for and an oxymoron?), which leaves sonic space for the other, non-fuzzy, similar-but-not-quite-identical bass line, too. I see that as more evidence of George Martin's studio genius rubbing off onto the lads.

Yeah, 13, sorry. I did mean to comment on the awesomeness of A. finding and buying another left-handed 1964 Hofner bass (actual '64, I presume, not re-issued?) and 2. having a Univox Super Fuzz (also vintage, maybe?) installed!?! If it is a vintage circuit, to compliment the vintage bass, perhaps that's the source of the noise in the isolation, which I don't detect on the full version of the song. Really just idle curiosity, though. No disrespect intended. :thumbsup:

Yea, that isolation video, I don't think, was done very cleanly. I think whoever did it had a lot of noise they couldn't separate. Maybe someone else will do it later and get a cleaner isolated bass to show where and when the fuzz is on/off. I got the sense Paul turned it on/off in certain spots.
