All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

I view web cams from time to time. I can’t remember if I posted this...but here it is again.

LIVE NOW! Abbey Road Cam

Thanks for that, Player! I've added that link to our All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles Wiki page, linked in my signature, currently at the bottom of the Resources section. Could be a very interesting pastime, if caught with the right tourists there. Thanks, again.

I missed the invasion but grew up listening to Beatles 8-tracks and cassettes in the car driving A LOT with my parents.
I had developed a “naive memory” from a musical standpoint. Hearing many of songs later after I developed some musicianship was eye and ear opening.
There’s a lot of things that stand out to me depending. Right of the bat the vocal harmonies/arrangements. The sometimes use of proper voice leading and the blend between them...pretty amazing. Also, melodic bass lines/song within a song...lots of great stuff there.

Thanks for the reminder!
Are you looking forward to the release of the new Peter Jackson movie later this year?

Absolutely! It will be interesting to see it. I never got the negative comments associated with the original movie. I just saw them playing and enjoying it. There are always creative discussions within every group, nothing wrong with that.

There were many hours of booleg audio recordings that featured material that never made it into the movie. So I assume there’s a lot of film to work with. What struck me is how well they knew the old non Beatle songs inside out and. As a group, could easily slip from one to another. They clearly cut their teeth playing these songs in the early days.

I remember seeing Let It Be in the theater when it was first released. I’m certain I saw it again much later, but it’s been decades.

I’m also looking forward to the new movie as well as reviewing LIB once it has been rereleased.

This is the first I'm hearing of the new movie coming out. I saw the original but not in the theater. The advance word from Paul and Dhani have me pretty excited for it. Maybe it will balance the perception a little. Peter Jackson of course watched 55 hours of footage and said there were many lighthearted moments of friendship and laughter. Not necessarily the oppressive tension portrayed in the original Let It Be. I look forward to it.

No Beatles thread is complete without a tribute to "Little" Richard Penniman, now passed at 87.

Who else can say they had The Beatles and The Rolling Stones as their opening acts?!? Without Little Richard, and a few others, there would not have been any Beatles or Stones.

BTW, I captured this still of a LR video showing his bassist, Charles Glenn, with what looks like a Gibson EB-1 violin bass! Could this have been another reason Macca bought a violin bass? Hmmm . . . .
