I read somewhere that The Beatles probably had similar facial reactions to seeing the model name on their 1966 tour US made Thomas Organ Company amps called "Super Beatle"! They objected that "Nothing is greater than Beatles!" But, apparently, they used the amps anyway! And, as they say, the rest is history.

Brian Epstein promised that The Beatles would use VOX amps as long as he was their manager. They got amps, VOX got publicity shots. They honoured that till he died.

Interesting to note, the square head amps were tube based. The AC-100 was 100W, the AC-50 was 50W. The triangular heads were the Thomas Organ transistorized ones.

Tube amps from I Feel Fine session. Bass amp had a 215 cabinet, guitar amps were 212 plus a horn. Later a 412 cabinet. The tube based amps were used in the studio and on tour.

Transistor. The Who ised them on a US tour.

The Beatles did use transistorized Super Beatle amps in the US on tour in 1966. They kept blowing.
