You know, I gotta say that almost any Ritter is a fine looking bass.

The "world's most expensive bass guitar", it was a Ritter, that BP did an article on a couple years ago. That thing was SIIICCCKKK!

But for is "normies" who don't have radical expensive customs, Ric does it for me body style wise, but a Fender jazz (or copy) burst/tort will always get a nod from me.

Always loved the Explorers. That's why I have one exactly like in the pic. I'm generally a big fan of all the classic Gibson basses. Unique but not in-yer-face.

Call me boring but the Rickenbacker 4001/4003 is still my favorite looking bass.

Somewhere on TB, there is a picture of a beat-to-all-hell Jazz bass with MM-style humbuckers where the single coils should be. I can't remember which TB'r owns it, but I've always thought that was the most AWESOME bass ever conceived.

My favorite basses (for looks):

A pre-CBS Fender Precision, with 3 tone sunburst, worn through to the wood from decades of constant, completely worn-in neck (no finish left), yellowed headstock from playing in smoky bars... Its a classic look.

I also like the F-bass, MTD, and Pedulla basses that use the wood from the bass to make the battery covers - covering the pickups with body wood looks great also.

Wowiezowie - that Fodera is beautiful!

Its a dead heat between a natural finished Wal Mach I and a Dingwall Afterburner with a Bubinga top...

Oh yeah, forgot Pedulla! Took me a while to warm up to it, but the MVP/Buzz basses get me every time. Can't fault a Wal either.

Well, call me old fashioned ... but for my money, they just don't get any purdier than an early-'60s Precision in Olympic White, tort pickguard with a rosewood, clay-dot board. I don't know who all this one belongs to, but I have drooled over it for years.
