(Almost) NBD! Peavey Cirrus 6

i sent in what I felt was a good offer on eBay and scored a Peavey Cirrus 6. According to the description the bass is older, but still brand new as it was acquired from a liquidation of a store that went out of business. It was on the rack, but never sold and barely ever played. I looked at other models on reverb and I liked the natural ting oil finish on this one with the walnut body and bubinga top. It is graphite reinforced set neck construction and 35” scale. My current six is a beautiful Kiesel but only 34” scale and I find I never play the low b as frankly it’s too floppy. My other 5 strings that are 34” have the same floppy b and it causes me to avoid it altogether so I’m excited to try a 35! I just paid the guy so I’ll post pics when she comes in

The floppy B is more a string issue than a scale issue.
That said, a 35 inch scale will give you a little more tension and a little boost in harmonics.
I think you'll like the Cirrus.
They tend to be detailed and versatile.
Worst case, an NOS Cirrus will sell pretty quickly.

I use DR Hi Beams or Dunlop Super Bright steels on my Cirrus 4. Very crisp, slightly scooped, twangy tone if thats what your looking for.

I'd put the US Cirrus up against any boutique bass. Amazing sound, fit and finish. Nice purchase!

If you are looking for the full hifi detail, I'd get Kalium.
If it really is NOS the Cirrus strings they came with are a good match.
