Alpha Omicron help

Looking for other players' experiences with the Darkglass Alpha Omicron.

I tried one out in the store, liked it well enough and brought it home. I dialed in a sound I liked and then took it to a gig. During set-up I level matched the pedal between engaged and disengaged but, when I stepped on it during the performance, my bass vanished. As soon as I disengaged the pedal, I was audible again. I don't mean to say that there was no sound from the amp but rather that I disappeared in the mix.

I took off the Alpha Omicron and put back my Malekko B:Assmaster for the next gig and have had no problems since.

Has anyone else has a similar experience?

What genre? Two distorted guitars and heavy double bass drum? That's why I sold my AOU for an X7, just wasn't cutting through at all. You'll want to volume match your lows, not just your whole signal. And don't shy away from cranking the gain, people here love to say that the A/O circuit sounds great at low gain, but for me it just sounds like a wet fart at anything lower than 3 o'clock

We're a three piece surf band but we branch out a little and I used the Alpha Omicron when we covered Pinball Wizard. It's bass, one guitar and drums. I'll fool with the gain some more but I'm seriously considering just selling it.
I copied this setting off a demo vid... worked for me
Haven't tried it in a full band mix but to backing track atm... if not try more blend and more of the raw clockwise type of drive to cut through

I use both the Alpha Omicron and Alpha Omega on 2 different board. I haven't had the problem you describe. Quite the opposite it's what I step on when I want to cut through 2 heavy Gtrs & loud drums.

Different style of music from what you describe though more modern rock type stuff though.

What works for me is these settings on my alpha omega.
On my omicron since there's no EQ I tend to run the level a little higher
I think it's a great pedal my fav overdrive for bass so I'd spend some time with it. Maybe try growl and bite switches on or off. I usually run the bite on and the growl off
