alternative pickup positions

anyone have insight on what kind of tones are yielded when two soapbar pickups are positioned close together near the bridge? I imagine the highs would be more pronounced, but thats just a guess.

IME two humbuckers in the normal jazz positions yields a thick round tone with big bass, and two humbuckers near the bridge as on your photo (or as on certain Warwick Thumb models) gives more midrange punch. I like both.
