Double Bass Alternative to DPA 4099

Can you suggest me a good, or maybe better, alternative to the DPA 4099? I use it since four years, alone or in combination with an Underwood; direct in a PA, through my Headway EDB-2, and in combination with a stage monitor. Sometimes I put the two signals in the EDB-2 into te return of my old GK mb200, in little venues without PA. I feel that it is'nt the perfect solution (if exists...)
Now I'm curious to test some other mic. The dream is a Schoepps, but I have'nt so much money. Cheaper ideas?

Tito,

I use the Remic Green ocassionally FOH, it's a little tricky to EQ but sounds warmer than the DPA 4099B. You might also want to explore the Nadine (Ear Trumpet Labs) DB microphone. Neither of these microphones are inexpensive however. There is also a revision of the 4099B the 4099 Dvote Core. We still talking $600.00-$800.00. There are other options as well but they're bigger and not as easy to install and remove.
the Troll is the least expensive..and sounds quite good.
