A high saddle that matches neck overstand

I never knew about this relationship. Which explains why, when years ago, a luthier installed a saddle that was WAY higher than the overstand, the feel became TOO loose - real easy to play, but it took all the vibes out.

Later, another luthier installed the current saddle that I now see closer matches the overstand, and it helped.

For a loose crossover string, sonores 2014 are great jazz strings and the fastest/loosest response I have had on my italian

Depends on the bass. On my Modern italian the have the biggest sound if all I have tried, both arco and pizz. Resonant full, rather than forward type of loud.
