Aluminum Neck Club

I was wondering if there was an aluminum neck club and here it is!! I have 6 aluminum neck basses at the moment:
Vaccaro X-Ray
Hartke XL-4
bastard fretless Hartke/Vaccaro (built from parts)
Zeta Prism
Kramer XKB-10
Kramer Voyager

I'll post some pics soon. I need to get them all together (the bastard is still in progress).

Robot Graves neck has landed.. gonna slap it on the stock Charcoal Frost body this evening. I have a Babicz full contact bridge on the way, but it won’t be here til Saturday.. not waiting that long to give this a whirl, lol. Plus, you know, empirical studies etc.

Interested to know if the neck fit is as easy on the Squier as they are with other Fender models (MiM, USA). That PJ looks sharp!

Will let you know- this Affinity’s a fresh 2022 model, so curious to find out myself! Also, according to the seller, this one apparently used to be yours? Small world!

I’m massively curious about that. How long did it take to get?
From the TB’er who shipped it to me, 3 days via UPS. I’ve read buying direct from RGI can take 5+ months, depending on the options you choose. Still, not a bad wait time considering it’s a one man operation!

Yep! :)
It's an awesome neck! Was on my old parts P-bass (finished by MJT in charcoal metallic frost, no less lol). Ordered it directly from RG a while back.

Loved it so much I sold it to fund a new custom RG neck :roflmao:.

I actually just got my new '22 Affinity J bass in today (charcoal frost). Happily surprised and satisfied with it and the quality for what I paid.

Also, please post pics of your custom RG— kinda wish this one had blocks. Sigh. Lol

The other option might be to strip the anodizing and polish the aluminum on the guard to match the neck. I might even be inclined to get another one just to do that.
That was my initial plan. I even bought all the stuff to do it (industrial strength Easy Off, scrubbies, GOGGLES) but after seeing the guard in person, it just pairs so nice with the bass as a whole. I definitely wanna do what you said & snag another just to see what a raw guard would look like.

Zeta Prism

Wait, the Zeta Prism has an aluminum neck? Did they always?
How did I not know that?!?! I was all set to buy one back in the early 1990s, thought I'd done my research, and then spent a couple hours playing one in the LA Bass Centre (or one of those famous bass shops in Southern CA, can't remember the name). In all that time I don't think I ever saw anything about aluminum in its construction!

The Hartke XL-4 showed up over the weekend. Really pleased with it. Desperately needed the string height lowered, but that's an easy enough fix. I'd struggle to know it had an aluminum neck if it weren't for the headstock. Feels just like a regular C neck. Pickups are very nice with the active electronics. Probably most useful in a Metal band, but it's not a one trick pony.

Now that I took a closer look at it, there's just an aluminum support on the headstock. No neck metal involved except for the truss rod.
