Always on?

Greetings. My question involves the idea of always leaving a chorus effect on. not a heavy chorus, just a light or subtle chorus. I have been thinking of getting a boss ceb-3 and running it on a light setting as an "always on" effect. Anyone else do this? Try and like it? Try it and hate it? What say you?

I know I am really going to have to try this meself, but asking questions in a forum might give me some insight before I do.

I've got the ceb-3 and it's almost always on. I think I shut it off only for 1 song. Settings used, left to right knobs: 1 pm, 5 pm, 10 am, 5pm. I started out with the slap setting in the manual and ended up (for now) with this.

I got it when we were just a trio. It gave a little more presence to the bass and now that we've added a 2nd guitar player, I just like what it does for the bass in my band's setting.

That's something i was pondering. I play in a trio. thanks for the feedback. Do you use an overdrive at all? If so do you turn the chorus off when the OD is engaged?

Once in a while I'll use overdrive (from a SansAmp Bass Driver) and fuzz (Bass Big muff). The few times I do, I leave the chorus on. We play blues, classic rock and I'm trying to steer the guys to add a funk touch in what we do. Most of the time, the guitars use overdrive or distortion, so I tend to shy away for these fx.

As I said, there's only one song that my band does (an original) that I shut it off. It just felt out of place right from the get go. Otherwise, On.

I leave a subtle chorus on for a few songs, very slow rate and moderate depth gives a phaser-like feel, and when dist or fuzz is kicked in it becomes more pronounced

then again I don't play with other guitarists

Makes me think of type o negative. Don't know if Steele always has a chorus running, but he does use one a LOT. Now, you could do a lot worse when it comes to tone

I often do the same thing with a TC Electronic pedal as it doesn't appear to color the sound much if at all.

I have a lot of effects, but not one stays always on. Maybe only the Yamaha NE-1, but I don't count that as an effect...

I don't leave any of my pedals on. They're all for effect: CE-20 chorus, MXR M-80, SansAmp PBDDI, OC-2, Q-Tron...

The one thing that stays on is a rack mount, 2 channel compressor, I have daisy chained. One side compresses @ 3:1 and the other side limits anything that spikes (thumps and pops). I'm using this stupid Behringer 2200, I bought used. You know what? I like the darned thing.

so, yesterday i bought a used ceb-3 off of CL for $40(score!) i used it at rehearsal. left it on aaaaaand i think we have a winner! since i didn't really crank the rate or depth it was a subtle effect and it worked like i thought it might. so to answer my own question: tried it and liked it. me thinks its a keeper.
