Sorry if this particular question belongs here or in the actual recordings forum, or misc. I've always pondered about other threads wit people asking about certain player's "tone" in the context of recordings. I know most people prefer the blended approach for recording. But when listening to some of my favorite recordings from bigger name artists (picky any really) in the studio or on albums, I've always wanted to know how these recordings are blended? Some of the more professional players here can hopefully fill me in. Is it more normal that players tones are usually a 50/50 blend? Do most studios want the true tone of the bass itself with minimal blending/coloring of an amp and do everything post or vice versa? Or is it so diverse that there is no way to answer this?
