I've got two Devon basses. I love his attention to detail.I like his use of magnets, but I think an AirTag compartment shouldn't be easily accessed.
If my stuff got stolen I'd just turn in an insurance claim.
I wouldn't go confronting criminals over a bass. It might not end well.
I’ve been toying with putting an Apple Tag inside the rear cavity of my Skjold Fire Drake for peace of mind taking it to gigs. Has anyone else done this or am I being paranoid?

What use are they then?Knavery, It's nice to see someone from Westminster, CO on TalkBass. I'm in your same area. I agree the police won't pursue a stolen bass. They don't go after stolen cars let alone an instrument even if it cost $4,000+.
Does this bass sound as good as it looks??? That is one sexy looking bass.
Somehow I think the level of security Macca has vs most of us at a dive bar is gonna be a little different. Plus, even though it's valuable, in terms of his net worth compared to the OP and his Skjold, the Hofner is couch change.Sir Paul is touring with his Hofner, which must be the most valuable bass in history.
For sure, and just be sensible and dilligent.Just play the bass you love.

Heys yeah it does and it plays better then it looks too. Pete’s attention to detail and ergonomics is top tier. Now only if I could play it as good as it looks….
If I bought a bass that beautiful and expensive I'd be tagging it as well. I'd also only take it to safe gigs and probably keep it strapped to my body in a gig bag when I wasn't playing it. That's just me, though.
Probably true. Perhaps a side slot on the bottom edge of the instrument . . . Like the sim card slot would be less discoverable. One wouldn't think to look there.I like his use of magnets, but I think an AirTag compartment shouldn't be easily accessed.
