Am I being picky? Micro scratches on ordered body

Well with the pickguard on it takes away at least my focusing on a lot of the scratches. You did want the used look, although, the micro scratches do look "self-done" obviously and not done great for the ruffed up/relic look. It's up to you, if it's not what was listed or agreed upon or what you wanted then return it.
Nitro body? No offense, but with consistent playing, you could have relic'd it yourself, way better than that. Could it be buffed out and redone?
@FunkHead - there were multiple pictures, but none that captured that type of scratching.
@DwaynieAD - lol you must be real fun to hang out with. I genuinely feel sorry for the people that have to deal with your poor attitude on the daily.
I contacted the seller letting them know of my issues, and they will be accepting a return and even providing a label for me to send it back. Despite being unhappy with the body, fortunately they had really good service, answered all my questions beforehand, and didn't hesitate to accept a return when I described that I was not happy with the body. Thanks to everyone who shared constructive feedback!

Real wear looks nothing like that unless you use a belt sander as a makeshift e-bow when you play. Or like to wear clothes made from steel wool?
I have a bass I bought new in 2003 that is starting to chip and has belt wear and scratches and patina from hundreds of gigs, and real wear does not look *anything* like that. That said, if you are looking for a relic finish, looks like the body is perfectly usable.
Real wear does sometimes look like they took this bass and then did their very best to try to restore the finish to be nice but failed. Smooth it back out (say with super fine buffing compound) then play out with a belt and no stand (just lean it on the amp) for a decade and you'll have a proper relic look. OK but no probably not what you were paying for.

IMO, the lack of pics showing the level of scratches is borderline misrepresentation of the product. If you had seen it the way your pic shows, I doubt you would have gone ahead with the purchase.
I would return it and get a nice MIM body or Allparts.
'lightly reliced' = cover your ass, very subjective and if I had a body I couldnt sell because its been very 'handled' I guess I could call it lightly reliced.
