Hmm... I can't really speak for you because the music industry is much different in America than in Israel, but I would take the job if it were offered to me strictly because of how difficult of a business it is becoming a "popular" band. In America, your chances are 1:1,000,000. I'm sure its not quite like that in Israel, but I still think the engineering job will give you a great opportunity too see into the music industry and see whether or not you really want to get into it.
