Am I doing it right

You're definitely on the right track with your rhythm and feel! I like what I'm hearing there.

If you were my student, the next things we'd work on together would be 1) tuning and 2) muting the unplayed strings.

ok thanks! Those stupid simple ones make me question my timing, am I on the beat etc. you’re the second one to call out my tuning lol. I guess if I’m going to record a video I should tune to the song lol. I stay a 1/2 step down all the time which is normally where KISS lives BUT I think they done this one in standard

OK, I'm a noob, low on the learning curve, so I'm not sure what you mean by his "tuning." Is he out of tune? Not playing in key? Something else? My ears can't tell me yet. Muting I understand, even though I'm having to work hard at it. Thanks.

@farmertom mentioned in the post above yours, that he deliberately tuned his bass 1/2 step down from standard pitch. I originally speculated maybe it was by accident, but I was mistaken.
