Hey - you asked I'm sure these are designed this way for great sound or to overcome some shortcoming of other basses, but they just ain't my thing

if you like the look, great. If they PLAY, that's a different thing. A good playing, good sounding instrument IS cool, no matter how odd looking.

They have none of the sensuality that a Fender has. They look like tools. A bit hard to grow fond of a 'tool'.

I have played one of his 6ers, unusual but great sounding and very comfortable. I'd have one if I could afford one. The guy is as much artist as instrument builder. There is a sculptural quality to them that I really like. But I know I'm weird.
