Am Pro II Neck on Ultra Body?

Hey all,

I've searched and found info somewhat relevant to my question, but hoping to find a definite answer if I can:

Can I mate an American Pro II Precision neck to an American Ultra Precision body?

Both have the 5-screw sculpted heel that looks identical, but the main part that is a question for me is that the Ultra necks are 21 frets while the AmPro's are 20. Does that make this venture un-doable or is that nothing to worry about?

Interesting question. The Ultra necks are fine, but I prefer the Am Pro II necks; they are wonderful.

If the end of the fretboard of the 21 fret neck is flush to the end of the neck, it probably won’t fit.

If the fretboard is longer than the neck at the heel, chances are that will fit but I can’t guarantee it 100%.

In case of doubt, I always measure my 34" scale to see where it’s at before getting my chainsaw out of the shed !

Your intonation will be off - they have differing numbers of frets, therefore differing lengths of neck, and the Ultra neck pocket will be too close to the bridge for the Pro neck.
