I sold my Mustang PJ so I have enough to buy an MIM but if I can sell my Player P too then I’ll have enough to get a USA made bass.

Interesting. FWIW I just sent my very nice specimen of a Player Precision back to gamble on an American Standard Precision I found that was too good of a deal to pass up.

I like the sound and weight and color of my Player P, but the edges of the fretboard and frets are just too sharp for my liking and bothers me when playing.

Another question. An Am Pro I’ve seen a couple of is the Antique Olive color with a rosewood neck and it says the frets are ‘narrow tall’, do you notice that much of a difference from standard medium jumbo?

Just yesterday I was playing that exact model a bit - American Pro in Olive with Rosewood.

The neck and frets felt very nice, but while I was playing I didn't think once about the fact that it had the tall narrow frets. It didn't announce itself, so at least to me given my limited experience with them, I'd say the change is subtle.

Well to anyone concerned, NBD coming soon. I ended up not going with any of the listings I posted above. I decided to not spend $1k on a new bass and only spend $500. GC put the ocean turquoise Standard P’s on sale again for $500 so I picked one of them up instead and pocketed the other $500.

Get the MIM. Same dead spots, half the money!

I got the MIM special edition on the right. They’re on sale from GC again for $500, same price as a used one and actually it’s a really nice bass. The neck is one piece which is cool and the tort pg is a dark color which I like more than a reddish color.
