You may have seen this already — apologies if it’s been posted. I haven’t. I stumbled upon it over at a guitar site I follow. It reminded me why I love this guy.

This is great. I love guys like Rick Beato and love all those theory videos his does, but Victor's comment "Theory only comes in if its a problem ..." and the comments after are spot on. I just posted about sight reading in another thread but you also have to incorporate your ears, etc. I know there are players who can run rings around me spouting every mode (I'd look it up if I have to), but you can't substitute your ear and instincts. Part of trusting your instinct may be that you have the musical foundation and you've absorbed it ... yet can play with it.
