Amazon shipping delays?

However, things are still relevant to each one of us that are worthy of discussion. This is about items that are either critical to health in my house or very important to my income while I'm at home - both important things to my life.

Just because everyone is fighting an epidemic doesn't mean we each can just ignore serious things in our own lives. This isn't an inconvenience to me - it's a very serious health issue for my wife, but because her treatment is a natural product, amazon appears not to be prioritizing it.

But yes - my heart goes out to everyone infected, and those who have not been able to overcome it. We're very fortunate to live in the 1st world.

Dude...there's nothing to be done about it. The reason you're not receiving replies about "help" and "what to do" is because we're all in the same boat, and there's literally nothing to be done about it.

This is a global event. It impacts shipping services. You have to wait. That's it.

Prime membership is a luxury that allows us to receive items without planning in advance. We as a nation didn't have no-hazard two-day guaranteed shipping before Amazon, and as such, we used to plan and prioritize packages accordingly. Now we don't do that, we've taken it for granted, and we've hit an event where service has been inevitably impacted.

Others have mentioned other ways to get supplies - those are valid.

But the core thing here is that you'll have to be patient and suffer through it, and begin planning ahead - order some things in bulk, and schedule your shipments. It's all you can do. It's not ideal, sure. But it's survivable.

a friend found that to be true - something ordered on sat is coming in 3 days with prime, 2 things ordered yesterday with prime show april 19th delivery.

So helpful for the entire world that's sitting at home being told we need to shop online instead of going to brick and mortar stores.

how long the delays are depend on what you're ordering. i'm still getting many things in 3 days. if they only have a few of something left, and they have to replace some orders, well, our orders are put off. if you order something they have plenty of in stock NOW, chances are you'll get it.

but if you get something with a date like march 30, chances are they may be expecting a shipment from the manufacturer, and shipping is slower, so it may arrive late. in some cases, the manufacturers are overwhelmed and are running late with their next batch.

you could order stuff from target or walmart. walmart has free shipping for orders over $35 and target has free shipping if you have a target card including a target debit card, which links to your bank and is free. the tricky part of ordering from walmart right now is to select home delivery after a search for a product, then check the date on the product page under shipping options. some things aren't expected to be delivered until april 10 or later - possibly depending on the manufacturers - while some things ship the next day. so far, i haven't had a walmart order date delayed, while a bunch of my amazon orders are delayed - two of them have been delayed and then delayed again, one from march 20 to april 10.

Yep. A lot depends on what you're ordering and who you're ordering from.

Prior to this we'd often order from Stop & Shop's Peapod delivery service. A few days ago we ordered and got a three day confirmation for most items we were able to order and about a week or so for the rest. Longer than usual, but these aren't usual times, so it's to be expected. This morning we got notification our entire order was cancelled. Go figure. I guess their system is either swamped or it doesn't really work in real time all that well. So it looks like I'll be running out today or tomorrow to pick up a few things we actually do need after all.

Whatever. Take the suggested precautions and get on with our lives. No hu-hu. ;)

We did, and one thing I absolutely will be doing IF me and the family survive it in one piece is going back to brick and mortar no matter how much of a comparative pain it is. I need to be able to survive without a nursemaid of a corporation delivering everything I need to survive and thrive.

The biggest impact to my shipping with Amazon Prime is items I'd get the next day are now 2-3 days.
I got used to getting things next day since we live so close to a couple distribution centers, so that's been a slight disruption to my daily flow. Truth be told, Prime is 2-3 day shipping anyway. So really, no change in the Amazon Prime SLA for us so far.
Some things are sold out and taking longer to ship now, but that's not Amazon's fault or a failure of their logistics.

totally, if that were true. I found a few prime things that are now extended to 1 month delivery, despite being prime. So it seems to depend what you order.

I've been saying this all along. Amazon's only goal is increasing market share, and killing competition.

Yep. I don't mind them delaying my cat food for a few days so they can focus on more important stuff. I actually felt kinda guilty for them shipping 25 pounds of cat food via 3 day delivery but I got over it pretty quick :)
