American Horror Story - Silly?

Season 2 "Asylum" is on netfilix Streaming now. We got through 4 episodes already. Far better than Coven will have to see how it wraps up and compare it to season one. Silly? let's see... aliens?demons?Anne Frank? Yep. it's a silly show.
Ive been enjoying Coven, but I do think that Asylum was better. Wait til you get to the end, I thought it wrapped the season up realy well.
Yeah ive been watching since the first series. I llike all of them, and of course its over the top, it's the point. Though this current series is dragging on a little right now, last few episodes havent been as good, hoping it picks up again. Still good, just not sure it's up to the level of the other two series. Time will tell. Gotta love Jessica Lange's scenery chewing. I'm glad they're building the series around her.
I started this season. It's alright, but I honestly wouldn't be catching every episode if it wasn't for my roommate who loves it so much.

There are some definite "silly" aspects to this show (in every season), but there is nothing else like it on television...
I haven't read the whole thread, but here are my quick thoughts:
"Murder House" was rather bizarre to me, as the storyline didn't make much sense. By the end of the season, it was getting ridiculous. Everyone was dying and becoming a ghost in the house!
"Asylum" was enjoyable. The storyline made more sense, and it wasn't quite as weird. This season is my favorite.
"Coven" sounded promising, but within a couple of episodes, I was bored of it. At this point, it's just silliness. The part about Zoe and Madison piecing together body parts from a morgue to bring back a dead boyfriend, and then having a three-way with him, was a bit far-fetched. Marie cutting off Delphine's head, and Queenie forcing it to watch movies about African Americans was pretty much lame comedy.
Also, Jessica Lange is great, but she is basically the same character in all three seasons.

But it was as if the writers were running out of ideas and needed to wrap up the season quickly, so they just started killing everyone off so that every character could become a ghost in the house, and the story could end.

well, it ended pretty much as I predicted. in fact it got very predictable about 7 episodes in. Honestly I was disappointed in this season. So far Season 1 was the best IMO.
+1. Asylum was pretty good, too. This one I would have given up on if not for my wife. In fact, I did skip 2-3 episodes of Coven to get some work done.
Who laughed at Misty's hell? I found it humorous. I was sad to see her go, though. Misty was great.

+1 She was my favorite and it was sad to see that she didn't go further. I guess it ended in the best way that they could end it. It's just hard when they don't really give you any characters that you can root for because they're all so damaged. Misty and Cordelia were the most pure of the lot but I suppose only one could make it.
I enjoyed Asylum and give Coven about a B-. I didn't get into the first season. Now The Following, that show is crazy and those characters really are something. When I watch it I just hope that there aren't really folks like that running around
I liked the first two season, i thought this one was a disaster. Ok i loved it until about halfway, thought i might like it better than the other two even... and then...wow did the writers lose it. What was the point of any of the characters? I don't want to get into it because i could write a huge paragraph but seriously they just didnt know what to do with any of them and none of them got a satisfying conclusion. The last episode, i could barely keep interested. Silly i can take, pointless and stupid, no. I hope it gets better next season otherwise i'm done with this series im afraid. A shame.
This (third) season probably had the most linear and identifiable plot-line throughout the whole show. In prior seasons the general plot from episode to episode felt a little more obscured, although the writers still managed to throw random characters and backstories in and out, as per usual.
Can't help but feel slightly underwhelmed by this past season, but I did keep watching, so that must say something (either about the show, or myself).
