If they're playable then buy them. Use a credit card and PayPal if you have to and then just decide the extent at which you are going to fix them for resale. Keep the good one obviously and turn the other for at least what you paid for both. You're not going to lose any money at $1300. Worst case scenario is that you get a good bass for about half the price.
