The model aircraft folks (particularly glider builders) have come up with all kinds of poor-man's vacuum bagging systems (they use them for carbon fiber, but the principles are the same). Take a look over on rcgroups.com and search there for vacuum bagging, there are dozens of detailed explanations of vacuum systems.
