American svt-vr

I bought one pretty much as sson as i heard about them. It is an amazing amp, sounds way better than any SVT i have play through, which is a fair amount. However i also own an AG500 and db 210 which at this point is what i use for gigging. I am wondering how much value you guys think the VR might gain over time. I will be using it for recording in a few months. i plan to post A/B's between the two amps miced and DI.
one last question on the VR does the LXR out put run through the preamp tubes? I am assuming that at least the preamp out does.

Word. Buy it because you love the sound and can't live without it, not as an investment. The market is way too volatile and unpredictable to buy instruments and amps as investments.

I've got a couple of "Vintage Items", but unless times get really tough, which I guess they could, I'm hanging on to them for as long as I can. The whole vintage market is a moving target. I've seen some B-15N's and Fender P Basses put up on ebay, only to see "item removed by seller" when the prices didn't reflect what the owner wanted to get. Even items on Antique Roadshow, aren't necessarily sold for what the experts estimated value is. Jimmy's point is well taken here, since I keep instruments and amps because they sound great, not to sell them at a profit. Other's are much better at that kind of thing than I am.

I recently saw a good-condition, American-made SVT-VR plus a 410HLF on my local Craigslist for $1000. I would have jumped on that, but it's not the right time for me to be buying music gear. Some day, I will own a tube SVT.
